Strength

Some will say:

"Power need not be shared."

Some will say:

"The strength owe not the weak."

This is the way of tyrants.

The shepherd bears the crook—

Does this entitle him to swing it?

The dog carries with him a mouthful of teeth.

Shall he then have his pick of the flock,

And in so doing

Be the wolf?

For what is power, if not to empower?

For what is strength, if not to protect?
