who was really into movies

really really into movies

really into a certain kind of movie

and when anything happened onscreen

he would laugh and laugh

like we were watching a series of black-and-white pratfalls

and not the extinguishing of a human life

i for one watched them all through my fingers

i couldnt tell you what they were about

or even if any of them were real

except that for the six months i cared about him

the squelching of blood was the soundtrack of my life

i dont know what hes up to now

i dont think i want to
